February 2 - Tripping along tropical trails with a few falls along the way

We didn't wander far from Hilo, with our destinations for the day within fifteen miles of the hostel.

Many people of Japanese ancestry settled in this part of the state.  This beautiful cemetery is the final resting place for many of them.

The weather today at the "Rainiest City in America" was perfect, so we decided to go walking.

My brother Kris and I had anoles as pets for a short time during our childhood.  I guess I still have a fondness for them.

Behind me is an Old Man Palm Tree.  I admire it's beard.

Diana and the banyan tree.

We had dinner at the Cafe Pesto in downtown Hilo, then returned to the hostel for an evening of camaraderie with our fellow campers.

  1. Fake fake fake. I know you're just sitting in your attic downloading stock photos of idyllic scenes and manipulating them with photoshop to put yourselves in them. You didn't even do a good job with that one of you and the old man tree. I can see where you chopped off your arm.

  2. You are sort of right, Tracy. These two actually answered those Internet scams about money being held for them in Nigeria. However, they stumbled upon an actual real one and now have 250 billion dollars and have hired me to photoshop them in exotic locations. They are safe drinking a certain bubbly beverage in St. Tropes and hoping that strfe and want will build character n their children. Now it's time for me finish up a " shark attack during a buffalo stampede shot" before they get filled up on caviar! Gs

  3. That explains it. If you could work in a panda encounter sometime soon, I'd find that quite entertaining.
