Leaving the Volcano

     The hike out wasn't as bad as I had feared two nights earlier.  It was steep, but going up is easier on the knees than going down, and we had plenty of time.

     

      Incontrovertible proof that the Egyptians were in Hawaii first. 

       Nearly finished with the climb.  We met a nice young couple from Canada at this spot, and swapped photo duties.  We've met quite a few Canucks and Alaskans on Maui, no big surprise.

     
      We drove up to the summit to take a look down.  This is the beginning of the trail we didn't take.

      We haven't had a lot of wifi lately, and I've come down with a nasty cold, my excuses for slow postings.  Hopefully things will improve, although how bad can it be in paradise, right?
